On February 23, 2018, we ordered the King size Shay poster bed frame. After calling customer service to verify that the item had drawers on both sides, and after looking at many different styles and confirming the shipping price for white glove service was $149.99, we decided to lock in the purchase and did so with 1stopbedrooms based on the customer service experience.
The confirmation stated 4-6 weeks for delivery. After hearing nothing for weeks, we emailed the customer service email on March 27 and received a follow up call to that email on March 30. After speaking with Tyra at extension 7002, turns out we owe an additional $180 (approximate), to have our item shipped white glove from Aurora, which is over three hours away. The options she gave us were to pick it up ourselves for a refund of $149.99, have another company pick it up, that we would have to find, or pay the $180 extra and they will come out and build it here.
After almost 5 weeks of no word, we reached out to find out
what was going on and now we have to pay an additional amount of $180 which was supposed to be included in the $149.99. No notice of that in the beginning, no follow up, and now our item is sitting in Aurora waiting for us? I have never ever ever experienced any service like this. As much as we really like the way that poster bed would fit in our bedroom with our new mattress, we may as well just return it and get it from someone with better customer support, that isn’t going to nickel and dime us after we already paid for it.
$149.99 plus $180, equals $329.99 for shipping and setup. Definitely a rip off!
